Job Opportunity: Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT - Pediatrics
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Specialty: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) - Pediatrics
Contract Length: 27 weeks
Job Description
Under general supervision, provide respiratory therapy services across all appropriate pediatric age levels and department areas. Responsibilities include:
- Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by medical staff.
- Record treatment information and patient responses in electronic medical records.
- Serve as a resource to medical staff.
- Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring.
- Provide age-appropriate respiratory care.
- Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained.
- Maintain respiratory therapy records.
- Participate as a member of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Experience
- No prior experience required.
- Preferred: 2 years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting.
Education & Licensure
- Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
- Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required within 12 months of hire.
- Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association required within 3 months of hire.
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, techniques, and equipment operation/repair.
- Clinical decision-making skills related to pulmonary and cardiac patient care.
- Ability to interpret patient information to identify needs.
- Ability to work effectively under stress.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good working relationships.
- Basic computer skills.
