Job Opportunity: Hyperbaric Technician
Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Hyperbaric Technician with a specialty in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in the specialty. First-time travelers are accepted.
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Call: None
Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
Required Qualifications
- License: Must hold a valid Georgia state license as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) or relevant to the Hyperbaric Technician role.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics).
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted.
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RRTs/CRTs.
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required.
- Other certifications such as PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke Certification, and EFM may be required depending on unit specifics; verify with clinical leadership if applicable.
- Competency Exams: Medication Test/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (if applicable).
- Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates.
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance with all documentation and credentialing is required to start on time.
- Orientation hours are non-billable and vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for an 8-week assignment).
- Maximum Return to Origin (RTO) period is 7 days.
- Travelers are expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day).
Required Documentation & Health Requirements
- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification and criminal history.
- Education Verification: Degree related to specialty required; can be pending at start with proof of processing.
- Physical Exam: Required within 12 months of start.
- TB Testing: Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; TB questionnaire required annually.
- Immunizations:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
Additional Requirements
- Skills checklist within the last 12 months.
- Verification of most recent work history; can be pending at start with proof of processing.
- Two clinical references required.
- Must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy.

- Locals are accepted at the same rate.
- Number of non-billable orientation hours is proportional to contract length.
- Facility may require additional unit-specific certifications or competencies; confirm with clinical leadership as needed.
