Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Travel Position
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Every other weekend
- No call

Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in Kansas (Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start)
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard ICU RN experience expected
- Specialty competency exams and certifications:
- Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
- NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
- CPI/MOAB High Risk Online Portion (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or MOAB De-Escalation Course) prior to start; on-site portion completed at orientation
- Fit Test (annual requirement, preferred prior to start)
- Health and immunization requirements:
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions require mask wearing
- Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccines; no declinations accepted
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA within specified timeframes prior to start
- Drug Screening: 12 panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Background and verification checks:
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days prior to start
- Employment verification for past 7 years
- Education verification within 90 days prior to start
- EPLS check within 90 days prior to start
- Other onboarding requirements:
- Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
- Ascension 2 Professional References (at least two)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Driver’s License/State ID (must be current and valid)
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (provided by agency)
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding and related education attestations
