Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg (Travel)
Location: Selma, Alabama
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Med/Surg Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients using scientific nursing principles. Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
- Preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medications (oral, subcutaneous, IV, IM)
- Reporting adverse medication reactions per policy
- Educating patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care
- Recording medical information and vital signs
- Monitoring and adjusting specialized patient equipment
- Providing bedside care for a variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery
- Changing dressings, inserting catheters, starting IVs, and assisting physicians during exams and treatments
- Responding to life-saving situations following nursing standards and protocols
- Participating in discharge planning
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of all care provided
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alabama
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Med/Surg and Telemetry nursing experience
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Information
- Employment Type: Travel
- Facility may require floating to other units (to be confirmed)
