Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum
Location: Voorhees, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Float to Level II Nursery as needed, caring for the lowest acuity newborns
- Float within 5 hospitals based on needs (within the system)
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
- Every Other Weekend (EOW) and Every Other Holiday (EOH) required
- Block scheduling NOT allowed
- Return to Office (RTO) documentation required at time of submission; late submissions not accepted
- First-time travelers accepted but not preferred
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Jersey
- Minimum 3 years of Post Partum experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience working with Infant patients
- Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
- Experience working with Neonate patients
Prior Travel Experience
- First-time travelers accepted but not preferred
- No explicit requirement for prior travel experience
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Proof of I9 or Attestation
- Government issued photo ID
- Background checks (7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
- State license primary source verification and NURSYS verification (for RNs)
- Physical exam within last 12 months
- Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation (required before first shift)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific protocols for positive responders)
- Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Drug screening: 10 panel drug screen without THC within 6 months, updated annually
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required by October 31 (with specific documentation)
- Visual acuity exam (20/40 or better)
- Latex questionnaire
- References: 2 professional references within last 2 years
- Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)
- Work history verification (minimum 1 year prior to start date, per NJ state mandate)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia competency test within 72 hours of signing (two attempts allowed) for certain units; not specifically required for Mother-Baby unit but part of general facility requirements
- Block scheduling is not allowed
- Floating to multiple hospitals within the system is required based on needs
- Local rate adjustments apply for candidates living within 50 miles (not included here)
