Job Opportunity: PACU RN

Location: Espanola, New Mexico
Employment Type: Clinical - Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
  • Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or per protocols.
  • Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout care.
  • Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically.
  • Complete patient population/age-specific procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
  • Floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Mexico
  • Minimum 2 years of PACU (Post Anesthesia Care) experience, including experience within the last year
  • At least 13 weeks or more of total travel nursing experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
  • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS certification issued by American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
  • Must pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias (BCA) testing during the first week of assignment (failure results in dismissal)

Preferred Qualifications

  • EPIC experience (training available on-site).
  • Team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
