Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Oxford, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an ER Registered Nurse for a travel/contract position. The role involves providing emergency nursing care in a hospital setting.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of I9 or Attestation
  • Government issued photo ID carried during hours of service
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and education verification
  • NURSYS verification for RN license
  • Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
  • Immunizations and health documents:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer, vaccination, or declination)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or declination)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start

Additional Notes

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications may be required for specific units but are not mandatory for this ER role unless specified.
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and STABLE certifications are not required for ER.
  • Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency testing required as applicable.
