Job Opportunity: RN UP - Cardio-Pulmonary Medical/Surgical

Job Summary

• Provide nursing care specific to the cardio-pulmonary medical/surgical unit.
• Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Implement and modify nursing interventions based on patient evaluations.
• Manage care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
• Administer medications, perform IV venipuncture, blood administration, and monitor labs.
• Prepare patients for procedures and manage pain.
• Discharge patients with appropriate instructions for safe transition.
• Document all care accurately using the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Participate in team huddles and ensure effective communication.
• Delegate tasks with appropriate follow-up and ensure basic patient care needs are met.
• Maintain patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
• Engage in professional communication and conflict management within the healthcare team.
• Support peer development through constructive feedback and knowledge sharing.

Contract Length

• Approximately 15 weeks (103 days rounded to nearest week).

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of cardiology nursing experience within the last year
• Experience in pulmonology nursing
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
