Location: Council Bluffs, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

A healthcare facility in western Iowa is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a travel assignment with an immediate start. The facility is travel-friendly and offers a great working environment.

Required Qualifications

• Must have Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification (CRT not accepted)
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• PALS and NRP preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Ability to assist with intubation (independent intubation not required)

Patient Population & Work Areas

• Patient types: Adults, Pediatrics, and Neonates
• Common cases: STEMI, CVA, COVID, EKOS, cardiac arrest, IABP
• Work settings: Inpatient and Outpatient, including ER, floors, pediatrics, Labor & Delivery, nursery, ICU, Sleep Lab, OR, PACU

Job Duties

• Perform 30-40 treatments/checks per day
• Draw arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Occasionally perform EKGs
• Assist with intubation

Schedule & Work Environment

• Shift: 6:30 AM start, flexible scheduling to cover staffing needs
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday requirement: Rotate with permanent staff
• Typically no call or standby call; if on call, response time is 30 minutes
• No floating to sister campuses
• Department orientation: 2 days
• Dress code: Wine burgundy scrubs

Equipment Used

• Ventilators and respiratory equipment brands: Drager, A40, LTV, Avea (nursery), V-60, Vapotherms

• Hospitalist or intensivist coverage is available 24/7
• Local candidates accepted, but pay rate adjustments apply for those within 50 miles
