Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work schedule includes every other weekend required
  • No on-call duties
  • Approximately 20 cases per day
  • Technologist should be fluent in OR/Fluoro and General X-ray procedures
  • Types of procedures: All routine radiology procedures
  • Charting system used: EPIC
  • Scrub color: Black
  • First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in Radiology / Cardiology specialty
  • New Jersey state license required prior to start
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • ARRT (R) certification required

Prior Travel Experience

  • Not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • I9 form and Government Issued Photo ID required
  • E-Verify clearance required
  • Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including alias and multi-level searches
  • Drug screen (10-panel) within 30 days of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per facility guidelines
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
  • Fit test and Respiratory Medical Clearance required prior to start (on-site fit testing mandatory)
  • Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
  • Color blind testing within 1 year if job tasks require color discrimination
  • References: 2 references within last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
  • Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history required
  • Work history verification required for New Jersey candidates (minimum 1 year prior to start)
  • Skills checklist to be completed and updated annually

Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA required, RQI and instructor cards acceptable
  • ARRT (R) certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Not required for X-Ray Tech
  • Other certifications (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO) - Not applicable for this role

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must comply with facility-specific policies including annual education sign-offs and safety manual acknowledgments
  • Candidates must complete all required competency exams and pass/fail testing as applicable
  • Documentation must be current and valid at the time of assignment start
  • Facility requires adherence to mask and PPE policies, including shaving for fit testing unless religious accommodations are approved
