Description

Job Opportunity: Critical Care Float - Registered Nurse

Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Unit Details

  • All ICU/IMCU units
  • Patient diagnoses include but are not limited to: Pneumonia, Sepsis, Renal issues, Pancreatitis, General surgeries pre/post, Orthopedics, COPD, COVID-19, GI issues, and Sickle Cell Crisis
  • Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
  • Call: None
  • Floating: Within facility and scope of practice

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of specialty experience in critical care
  • First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Required Qualifications

Licensure

  • Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Georgia

Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required for critical care specialties
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM) are specialty-dependent and may not be required for this role

Health and Compliance

  • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if history of positive TB)
  • Up-to-date immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season
  • Background check and education verification required prior to start
  • Skills checklist and work history verification required (can be pending with proof of processing)

Competencies

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for ICU/IMCU/critical care areas (3 attempts allowed)
  • Color blindness test required

Additional Information

  • Clinical screening will be conducted to determine fit before final approval
  • Return to work (RTO) maximum of 7 days
  • Holiday work expectations: If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it; if 2 holidays, expected to work both; if 3 holidays, expected to work 2
  • Orientation hours vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
  • Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may result in assignment pushback

This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic critical care environment with a variety of patient diagnoses and a supportive team structure. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
