Job Opportunity: RN - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Selma, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in patient care within the surgical environment. Responsibilities include:

Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR technicians, and other staff to provide care in the OR
Ensuring availability of supplies and timeliness of surgical cases
Communicating with patient families
Updating physician preference cards
Scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgeries
Supervising personnel delivering patient care

The role requires adherence to the State Nurse Practice Act, AORN guidelines, and hospital policies.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Alabama
Minimum 4 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
Experience as an OR Circulator
Experience as an OR Scrub RN
ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Schedule

Monday through Friday
Either 5 shifts of 8 hours or 4 shifts of 10 hours
