Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist proficient in both peripheral vascular IR and neuro vascular IR procedures. First-time travelers are accepted.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate in IR procedures including:

  • Stents, Angioplasty, Angiograms
  • Nephrogram, Peripherals, Drainages
  • Upper and Lower Extremity, Abdomen and Pelvic vascular studies
  • Venous Access, Neurological Studies
• Work in a Level 1 trauma, PE, and stroke center with 4 IR rooms (2 single plane and 2 biplane Siemens c-arms).
• Collaborate with another IR tech in each room (one scrubs, one circulates).
• Participate in procedures such as angiograms, embolizations, nephrostomy, IVC filter placement, PE thrombectomy, intracranial thrombectomy, stent placements, and central line insertions.
• Call requirement: On call every 3rd or 4th weekend from Friday 5:30 PM through Monday 7:00 AM.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Indiana
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
• Proficiency in peripheral vascular interventional radiology
• Proficiency in neurovascular interventional radiology
• Ability to scrub both peripheral and neuro cases confidently

Prior Travel Experience

• No prior travel experience required. First-time travelers are accepted.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including criminal, sex offender, and education verification.
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 12 months of start.
• Physical exam within 12 months of start.
• Fit mask test within 12 months (specific approved respirators required).
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations).
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations or history accepted).
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required.
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap preferred but not required.
• TB testing (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
• Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score.
• References: Minimum 2 from recent employment with supervisory titles.
• Skills checklist and competency exams required annually.

Additional Information

• Call-in shifts must be made up or added to the end of the contract depending on FTE status.
• Orientation includes completion of facility-specific safety and compliance modules.
• Must complete facility-specific forms and acknowledgments prior to start.
