Job Opportunity: Outpatient Clinic Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work primarily at the Edmonds Clinic with some floating to First Hill Clinic
- Surgical practice focusing on high-risk cancer patients or those genetically predisposed to breast cancer
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- No weekends, holidays, or call requirements
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in outpatient clinic nursing
- Experience in triage required
- Epic electronic health record experience preferred
- 1st time travelers accepted
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Washington (compact license accepted)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Additional Preferred Certifications (Check if applicable)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Chemotherapy certification
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of outpatient clinic experience within the last year
- Experience in outpatient and clinic settings
- Triage experience
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification required (nursing degree)
- Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use (annual)
- Fit mask test (annual)
State and Facility Specific Requirements
- Washington State Patrol background search within 90 days of start, updated every 2 years for certain facility types
- WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation required for out-of-state compact license holders
- Floating policy acknowledgment required (may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance)
Competency and Training Requirements
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Competency exams as required by specialty
- Epic training modules completion required (within a week of orientation)
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific WorkRamp training modules required
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certifications as applicable
References and Employment History
- Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format
Notes
- Locals within 50-mile radius are not eligible for this position
- Perm candidates from other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) are eligible if separated for at least 3 months
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
This position offers a structured weekday schedule with no weekends, holidays, or call, ideal for RNs with outpatient clinic and triage experience seeking a travel contract in the Seattle area.
