Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an RN experienced in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) care. The unit provides Level 1 maternal care focusing on low-risk births, including occasional patients with magnesium sulfate (mag), gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), and insulin drips. The role involves caring for laboring mothers, deliveries, and postpartum patients, with an ideal candidate having some NICU experience.

Required Qualifications

• License: Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Experience:

  • No specific minimum years of experience required, but must be competent in labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
  • NICU experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Prior Travel Experience: Not specified or required.

Work Details

• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Patient Ratios:

  • 1:3 mom-baby couplets
  • 1:1 laboring patients (depending on case)
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
• Floating: Not required (closed unit)
• Charge Nurse: Present on each shift and takes patient assignments
• Common Diagnoses/Patient Types: Low-risk maternal care, occasional mag and GDM patients
• Common Drips: Insulin, magnesium sulfate, pitocin
• Equipment: Alaris IV pumps

Additional Information

• Fingernail Policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply may result in contract termination.
• Orientation includes a pass/fail RN exam requiring a 90% score to continue.
• Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• Blocked scheduling is approved and flexibility is preferred.
