Job Description

• Work on a busy Med Surg/Telemetry floor
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1845-0715)
• No on-call duties
• May be required to float to other Med Surg/Tele units or low acuity ICU

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg/Telemetry experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start, including all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
• N95 Fit Test within 1 year (no PAPR allowed)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (no declinations accepted)
• COVID vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Complete employment application/resume
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty

Summary

This is a travel Registered Nurse position on a Med Surg/Telemetry unit with a 13-week contract. The role requires at least 1 year of RN experience, current Tennessee or compact RN license, specific certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIHSS), and recent Epic experience. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory. The position includes a night shift schedule with no on-call duties and potential floating to other units. Comprehensive background, health, and immunization documentation are required before starting.
