Job Opportunity: MRI Technologist - Radiology

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Position Overview

• Role: MRI Technologist
• Specialty: Interventional Radiology (also serving ER/Outpatient)
• Shift: Days, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (3x12)
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Call Requirements: Rotating call, 2-3 days per week including weekends, as required by facility
• Orientation: Evening shift orients on day shift; traveler must be available for the entire orientation week

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in Interventional Radiology and Pediatric Radiology
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Experience working with pediatric patients

Job Responsibilities

• Perform specialized MRI procedures resulting in diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation
• Provide essential patient care during MRI procedures
• Apply principles of MR safety
• Work with all patient types, including vented patients and anesthesia cases

Skills and Experience

• Excellent communication and patient care skills required
• Preferred experience with GE 1.5T and 3T MRI equipment
• Familiarity with Visage PACS system and EPIC EMR is a plus

Physical Demands

• Minimal: Push/pull up to 46 lbs, carry 25 lbs, grip up to 50 lbs, pinch grip 6 lbs, climb 8-10 inch steps
• Occasional: Reaching forward and bending for up to 5 minutes continuously, balance
• Frequent: Hand coordination

Work Environment

• Facility Department: Interventional Radiology
• Patient Types: Diverse, including critical care and anesthesia cases
• Dress Code: Black scrubs (top, bottoms, jacket)

Additional Notes

• Flu vaccination is mandatory for all travelers from November 1 to April 1; no declinations accepted
• No float requirements

This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with at least 2 years of experience, including pediatric imaging, who are comfortable working in a fast-paced interventional radiology environment with rotating call responsibilities.
