Job Opportunity: RN Med Surg Telemetry (Travel)
Location: Waco, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
- Coordinate all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Required Qualifications
- License: Current RN license in Texas with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
- Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Experience: Minimum years of experience not explicitly stated; assume standard RN Med Surg Telemetry experience expected.
- Exams & Competencies:
- Ascension Specialty Exam (passing score minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics; passing score minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension EKG Exam (passing score minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
- Ascension Epic Test-Out (required)
- Health & Immunizations:
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire.
- Fit Test: Required annually; preferred prior to start.
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Required within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- Background & Verification:
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days of assignment start; updated annually.
- Employment Verification for past 7 years; updated annually.
- Education Verification within 90 days of start.
- Professional References: At least two professional references prior to first assignment.
- Additional Requirements:
- Driver’s License/State ID (valid, must match address requirements).
- Resume/Profile submission required.
