Job Opportunity: CST/ORT - First Assist (Travel)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM (36 hours per week)
On-Call Requirements: Every third weekend and every third weekday
Unit: Cardiac First Assistant Tech – Vein Harvester
Floating Area: Main OR
Dress Code: Scrub color/attire provided by hospital


Job Description

  • Surgical First Assistant role focused on cardiac procedures.
  • Typical procedures include CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, aorta repair (open and endovascular), and thoracic surgeries.
  • Unit has approximately 2.5 CVORs.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Surgical Technologist experience within the last year.
  • Surgical First Assistant experience.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Certification as CSFA, CFA, or SA-C.
  • Knowledge of USP 800 Hazardous Drug Risk.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates with additional relevant skills will be considered first.

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Rotating on-call schedule every third weekend and weekday.
  • Scrubs provided by the hospital.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced cardiac OR environment.
