Job Description

• Perform a wide variety of technical radiologic procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative.
• Facilitate diagnosis by applying appropriate skills.
• May have supervisory or instructional responsibilities as assigned.
• Practice infection control and body substance isolation per hospital policies and OSHA standards.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Operate and troubleshoot CR, DR, PACS, HIS, and RIS computer systems.
• Attend annual mandatory education including blood borne pathogens, infection control, and body substance isolation.
• Maintain department competencies as required.
• Must have excellent patient care skills.
• Must be current with all continuing education for both radiology and mammography.
• Must be willing to work weekends and evenings.
• 10/12 hour shift requests will NOT be considered; must work posted schedule.
• No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) will be accepted; RTO must be noted and verified at profile upload.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in radiologic technology, with at least 1 year current experience.
• Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification (R).
• Active Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist License in hand or proof of application required; license will not be pended upon offer.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• X-Ray Technologist skills current to within 1 year.
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment.
• Strongly preferred: Experience with Meditech Expanse system.

Additional Requirements

• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered.
• Must be able to work the posted evening schedule without accommodations such as block scheduling.
• No concurrent permanent or travel assignments allowed.

• Facility is a 298-bed teaching hospital with a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging department offering MRI, high-speed CT, ultrasound, x-ray, mammography, and 24-hour service.
