Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Lebanon, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Discipline: Registered Nurse
  • Specialty: CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 06:45 AM - 3:15 PM
  • Call Requirements: Every 3rd day and at least 1 to 2 weekends per month
  • Weekend/Holiday Coverage: As needed
  • Floating: Not applicable
  • Additional Duties: Assist in the general OR when no CVOR cases are scheduled
  • Patient Population: May care for COVID-19 patients
  • Facility Environment: Tobacco and fragrance-free

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
  • Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Prior Travel Experience

  • No explicit requirement for prior travel experience

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and Pennsylvania-specific PATCH search
  • PA FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending if appointment receipt and attestation are on file
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance required; may start with results pending if attestation is on file
  • Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts
  • Professional references: 2 required within 3 years
  • Skills checklist and performance evaluations as applicable
  • Photo for badge (passport-style, professional attire)
  • Various facility-specific agreements and acknowledgments (e.g., Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement)

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Hepatitis B (full vaccine series or positive titer plus declination if applicable)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titers with boosters as needed
    • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as needed
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or valid medical/religious exemption required annually
  • COVID-19 vaccine, medical/religious exemption, or declination accepted
  • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
  • Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Additional Information

  • Candidates will be clinically screened for fit before manager interview
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free environment; candidates must be notified prior to submission
  • New hire orientation and completion of required online learning modules before or on first day

This position offers a structured schedule with call and weekend responsibilities, requiring a skilled CVOR RN with EPIC experience and current certifications. Compliance with extensive background checks, health screenings, and facility-specific documentation is mandatory.

Cons

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
