Job Opportunity: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Twin Falls, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
A hospital in Idaho is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for a 13-week travel assignment. The position involves working primarily in acute inpatient and acute rehab settings, with possible floating to a nearby medical center about 30 minutes away.
Work Schedule
- 4 ten-hour shifts (07:30 AM - 06:00 PM)
- Typical schedule: Friday through Monday (may vary for vacation coverage)
- Weekend coverage required
- Holiday coverage as needed
Patient Population & Caseload
- 8 to 10 patients treated per day
- Common diagnoses: Stroke, pneumonia, sepsis, etc.
- Work areas: ICU, acute tower, rehab unit (time split equally between acute inpatient and rehab)
Orientation & Onboarding
- 2-3 days of unit/department-specific orientation
- Initial onboarding schedule typically Monday through Friday, 5 eight-hour shifts
Required Qualifications
- Current BLS Certification
- CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology) required
- Minimum 1+ years of experience in acute care
- Competency in VFSS (video fluoroscopic swallow study)
- Rehab unit experience preferred but not required
- Experience with EPIC EMR system preferred
- Prior travel experience is not required (first-time travelers are welcome)
Additional Information
- Department: Speech Therapy
- 37-hour workweek guarantee
- Scrubs permitted; must not match colors of other departments
- Rehab aides are staffed to assist
- Radius rule: Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
