Description
Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist
Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Specialty: Pediatric/Neonatal Respiratory Therapy (Peds/Neo RT)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) acceptable
- Must have current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and/or Level III or higher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Must have at least 2 years of Level IV or Level I PICU experience
- Ability to assist with intubation (independent intubation not required)
Job Details
- Patient Population: Pediatrics and Neonates
- Work Areas: NICU and PICU
- Typical Treatments per Day: 20-25
- Responsibilities include all aspects of respiratory care such as:
- Use of aerogen, Volara, cough assist, IPV, NAVA
- Operation of Hamilton and Servo ventilators
- Airway management and intrahospital transport
- Equipment used: Hamilton and Servo ventilators, Respironics & Hamilton BiPAP, Fisher Paykel High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
Scheduling & Work Environment
- Shift Type: 3x12 hour night shifts
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (weekends include Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Holiday Requirement: Possible
- Self-scheduling allowed with preference, but commitment to weekend shifts required
- Staffing: Prefer 8 RTs per shift; RT will not be the only RT in house
- No call or standby call required
- No floating required
- Dress Code: Stone/light gray scrubs
- Department-specific orientation provided, duration depends on prior experience
- Hospitalist or Intensivist available in-house
