Description
Job Opportunity: RRT - Respiratory Therapy
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Department: Respiratory Services, Adult Service Line
- Facility Size: 850 beds
- Staff: 120 total respiratory therapists
- Day Shift: 17-20 RRTs
- Night Shift: 12-16 RRTs
- Patient Ratios: 10-25 patients per therapist
- Equipment Used:
- GE R860 Adult ventilators
- Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
- Newport HT70 transport ventilator
- Hamilton C1 ventilator
- Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner
- Floating Areas: All Critical Care units and floors
- Dress Code: Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs
- Weekend Requirement: At least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with adult patients
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Typical Responsibilities
- Perform all respiratory therapy tasks and functions across adult critical care units
- Work with a variety of ventilators and respiratory equipment
- Provide care in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and Level III neonatal intensive care unit
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Must hold a current North Carolina RRT license
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Certified in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (NRP and ACCS preferred)
- Comfortable working varied weekend shifts
- Able to float to all critical care units and floors
