Physical Therapist (PT) - California, Redding

Job Details

Specialty: Physical Therapy
Location: Redding, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Four 10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Weekend Requirement: Work every 3rd weekend, possibly every other weekend
Holidays: Work integrated into permanent staff rotation
Orientation: 8 hours floor-specific orientation for all modalities
Floating: No floating required

Patient Population & Unit

Rehab unit (PT, OT, Speech)
Common diagnoses: cardiac, stroke (facility is stroke certified), orthopedic, ICU, neuro, med-surg
Pediatrics ward (low volume), neonatal ICU present but travelers are not required to work NICU or pediatrics

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience in Physical Therapy
At least 1 year of acute care hospital experience
Active California Physical Therapy license
BLS certification
COVID-19 vaccination required
Open to first-time travel therapists (prior travel experience not required)

Additional Information

PT staff coverage 7 days a week
Team leader available when manager is not present
Dress code: polo or button-down long sleeve shirt (burgundy, provided), dark solid pants; no scrubs allowed
EMR system: Cerner

Additionally, dealing with Host Healthcare has been a seamless experience from compliance and onboarding.

Cons

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
