Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position: Special Procedures/Interventional Radiology/Neurovascular Tech
  • Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00am or 6:30am start until 4:30pm or 5:00pm, with rotating on-call
  • Neurovascular experience preferred
  • Epic electronic health record experience required
  • First-time travelers will be considered

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Virginia
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
  • Experience as a Special Procedures Technologist
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Prior Travel Experience

  • Not required (first-time travelers will be considered)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background check: 7-year criminal history check with zero tolerance for any hits
  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • E-Verify compliance required
  • Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with additional requirements if history of positive TB
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
  • Fit test for N95 mask required annually (PAPR not allowed)
  • Required immunizations and titers within 10 years:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer or declination)
    • Varicella (titer or declination)
    • TDAP vaccine preferred (required for some units)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required or approved exemption (mask required if exempt)
  • COVID vaccine preferred but not required

Additional Certifications & Competencies

  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
  • Color blindness testing with 100% passing score required
  • Primary source verification of state license required

Notes

  • Facility has a strict zero tolerance policy for any license or background hits
  • Fingerprinting required as part of background check process, to be completed within the first week of contract start
  • Proof of 2 professional references required
  • Unit-specific skills checklist and job description forms required and must be updated annually
