Job Opportunity: Neuro ICU Registered Nurse

Location: Columbia, South Carolina

Job Description

• Must have strong Neuro ICU experience.
• Experience with EVDs (External Ventricular Drains), lumbar drains, and SAH (Subarachnoid Hemorrhage) patients required.
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification is required.
• At least one year of experience with Epic EMR is mandatory.
• Candidates without strong Neuro ICU experience will not be considered.
• Floating to other units or campuses within a reasonable radius is required; staff will only float to units where they are qualified and competent. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
• Minimum of 1 year Neuro ICU experience within the last year
• NIHSS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with EVDs (External Ventricular Drains), lumbar drains, and SAH (Subarachnoid Hemorrhage) patients
• Experience with Epic EMR system

Additional Notes

• Staff must be willing to float to other Prisma Health units or campuses as needed.
• Floating will only be to units where the nurse is qualified and competent.
• Online orientation and pre-assignment testing are mandatory and time-sensitive.
• Candidates must have experience with Epic EMR system.
• This is a travel/contract position with a 13-week assignment length.

This position is ideal for experienced Neuro ICU RNs with strong critical care skills, familiarity with neurological procedures and patient care, and the ability to adapt to multiple units within a healthcare system.
