Description

Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7pm - 7am), weekdays, minimum every other week, including holidays
Flexibility: Option to flex to 4x12 shifts if needed (overtime billed after 48 hours)
EMR System: Meditech (experience preferred)
Openings: 2 (backfill for day manager)

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
Certifications:
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
Education: Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Additional Requirements

Must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and other standard screenings required
Physical exam within 1 year, attesting ability to meet physical demands
Immunizations and titers required or declination accepted for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (updated annually)
9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (not required annually)
Flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1) or approved exemption

Competencies

Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required (must meet passing score)
Other competency exams as applicable

Notes

Locals are eligible to apply
Candidates must bring hard copies of all health documents on the first day
Performance evaluations and clinical references may be required if previously worked with the agency

This position is ideal for experienced ER RNs with prior travel experience looking for a 13-week night shift contract in North Carolina.
