Description
Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7pm - 7am), weekdays, minimum every other week, including holidays
- Flexibility: Option to flex to 4x12 shifts if needed (overtime billed after 48 hours)
- EMR System: Meditech (experience preferred)
- Openings: 2 (backfill for day manager)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Certifications:
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Additional Requirements
- Must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and other standard screenings required
- Physical exam within 1 year, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and titers required or declination accepted for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (updated annually)
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (not required annually)
- Flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1) or approved exemption
Competencies
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required (must meet passing score)
- Other competency exams as applicable
Notes
- Locals are eligible to apply
- Candidates must bring hard copies of all health documents on the first day
- Performance evaluations and clinical references may be required if previously worked with the agency
This position is ideal for experienced ER RNs with prior travel experience looking for a 13-week night shift contract in North Carolina.
