Job Opportunity: RN - Emergency Department (Travel)

Location: Boerne, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Emergency Department at a freestanding 24/7 emergency center
• 15 treatment rooms including trauma/cardiac care, emergency/treatment, fast-track non-urgent, and observation beds
• Full range of services: radiology, laboratory, telemetry
• On-site diagnostic equipment: 16-slice CT scanner, x-ray suite, ultrasound, telemetry
• Air and ground transport available for critically ill or injured patients
• Direct access to advanced trauma services and expert resources

Shift Details

• Shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekend Schedule: Rotating weekends or 4 weekend shifts per schedule; holidays per unit policy
• Call Requirements: None
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Job Responsibilities & Skills

• Provide urgent care, stroke, STEMI, and pediatric emergency nursing care
• Must be willing to float to other units as needed (floating policy applies)

Appearance & Dress Code

• Scrub color: Navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket
• Nails: Clean and healthy
• Hair: Neat and clean, no extreme styles or colors
• Facial hair: Clean and neatly trimmed
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; exceptions addressed individually
• Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; other visible piercings prohibited

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• Floating is mandatory during the assignment
