Description
Job Opportunity: RN - Emergency Department (Travel)
Location: Boerne, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Overview
- Emergency Department at a freestanding 24/7 emergency center
- 15 treatment rooms including trauma/cardiac care, emergency/treatment, fast-track non-urgent, and observation beds
- Full range of services: radiology, laboratory, telemetry
- On-site diagnostic equipment: 16-slice CT scanner, x-ray suite, ultrasound, telemetry
- Air and ground transport available for critically ill or injured patients
- Direct access to advanced trauma services and expert resources
Shift Details
- Shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Weekend Schedule: Rotating weekends or 4 weekend shifts per schedule; holidays per unit policy
- Call Requirements: None
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
Job Responsibilities & Skills
- Provide urgent care, stroke, STEMI, and pediatric emergency nursing care
- Must be willing to float to other units as needed (floating policy applies)
Appearance & Dress Code
- Scrub color: Navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket
- Nails: Clean and healthy
- Hair: Neat and clean, no extreme styles or colors
- Facial hair: Clean and neatly trimmed
- Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; exceptions addressed individually
- Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; other visible piercings prohibited
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
- Floating is mandatory during the assignment
