Job Opportunity: RN - PCU (Cardiology and IMC)
Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility Overview
- 198-bed Level III trauma center
- Services: Medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth center, cancer center, nephrology, pediatric unit, inpatient behavioral health, day surgery, imaging, and lab testing
- Accredited with PCI, Mammography, and Laboratory certifications
- Located in a scenic area with outdoor recreational opportunities
Position Details
- Specialty: Cardiology and Intermediate Care (IMC)
- Shift: Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 to 48 hours (3 or 4 twelve-hour shifts)
- Weekend Hours: Vary, based on a two-week pay period
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: Yes, floating to PCU, Medical, Surgical, or Nephrology units as needed
- Number of Openings: 1
Patient Care
- Unit Beds: 24
- Patient Ratios:
- IMC Day Shift: 1 RN to 3-4 patients (active titrating drips)
- Med/Surg Day Shift: 1 RN to 5-6 patients
- IMC Night Shift: 1 RN to 4-5 patients
- Med/Surg Night Shift: 1 RN to 5-6 patients
- Patient Population: Adult to Geriatric
- Common Diagnoses/Treatments: STEMI, Non-STEMI, Stroke, Post Catheterization, Alcohol-related conditions
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiology experience within the last year
- Experience in Intermediate Care (IMC)
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with Adult patients
- Experience working with Geriatric patients
Additional Information
- Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
- Equipment: Standard Cardiology monitoring (Telemetry, T-1’s), IV pumps, Crash Carts
- No call requirements
- Floating to other units expected
Prior Travel Experience
- Not explicitly required
