Job Opportunity: RN - HVI Proc IR

Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide direct 1:1 nursing care to adult patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Perform initial patient assessments and develop, implement, and modify plans of care based on patient and family needs.
  • Administer moderate sedation and other medications safely according to policies.
  • Perform hemodynamic monitoring, identify life-threatening arrhythmias, and implement appropriate clinical treatments.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
  • Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care and procedure events.
  • Act as a safety advocate and respond to emergent situations.
  • Work within a small, cohesive team of RNs and Radiology Technologists.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois.
  • Minimum 3 years of Interventional Radiology nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Experience working with adult patients.
  • Proficient in care involving venous central lines and tube changes.
  • Experience with embolization procedures (arterial and venous).
  • Experience with venous thrombectomy procedures.

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
