Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Radiology Technologist (Travel)
Location: Hazard, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Minimum 2 years of experience required as a Cath Lab Radiology Technologist.
- Work hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Rotating day off during the week.
- On-call expectation: 8 to 10 days per month.
- On-call rotation includes one night per week (5:30 PM to 7:00 AM) and one weekend every 3 weeks.
- Call team consists of 2 RNs and 1 Radiologist Technologist.
- Must respond within 30 minutes for STEMI alerts.
- Cath Lab performs 8-10 procedures daily across 2 Cath Labs; team rotates in the EP Lab.
- Average 6-8 STEMI cases per month.
- Duties include panning the table, scrubbing diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases using devices such as Shock wave, Balloon Pump, Impella, EKOS, Penumbra, and Acist Contrast injector.
- Device implants include pacemaker and ICD (single/dual/bi-ventricular leads), peripheral diagnostic and intervention.
- Cross-training to EP for ablations is available; EP experience preferred.
- Procedures use both radial and groin access.
- Scrubs and lead apron provided.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Cath Lab Radiology Technologist.
- Licensure: Valid license for Cath Lab Radiology Technologist in Kentucky (or compact state license valid in KY).
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Health Requirements:
- COVID-19 vaccination (religious and medical exemptions accepted with documentation)
- MMR vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination
- Influenza vaccine (seasonal, Sept 1 - May 31; exemptions accepted with documentation)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Tdap vaccination (valid 10 years; declinations accepted)
- TB Quantiferon or PPD with negative chest X-ray if applicable
- Annual physical or health statement clearing candidate to work without restrictions
- Fit Test: Ability to safely use N95 respirators and pass fit test if required.
- Background and Compliance:
- Recent background check including criminal, employment, education verifications, and sex offender registry.
- Drug screening per facility policy.
- Verification on Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry.
- Submission of professional references (2 required, including 1 supervisor reference within last year).
- Completion of facility-specific skills checklist, competency exam, and core competencies.
- Annual updates required for many credentials and health requirements.
Additional Information
- Orientation occurs bi-weekly.
- Candidates must reside within 100 miles of the facility.
- Assignment confirmation required within 24 hours of offer acceptance.
- Schedule is based on a 36/48 hour rotation over two weeks unless otherwise noted.
