Job Opportunity: Certified Orthopedic Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Specialty: Surgical Services (Orthopedic Tech)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 5x8 Days (06:45 AM - 03:15 PM)
- Average Daily Census: 25 cases/day across 3 rooms
- Weekend Requirement: None (Block scheduling)
- On-call: No
- Floating: No
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- First-timers Accepted: Yes
- Block Scheduling: Yes, to be discussed with manager
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Certified Orthopedic Tech with a minimum of 3 years of experience
- Certified Orthopedic Tech experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Required Documents & Compliance
- Valid/current US Driver’s License or US ID
- Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
- Education verification (High School or College Diploma not required for this role)
- Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry fingerprinting (must be completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start)
- Competency exam (required for all clinical/allied candidates)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including labs within 7 days of contract signing
- Fit mask test (specific mask types required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Immunizations or proof of immunity for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required by 11/30 (not required for non-patient facing or remote candidates)
- References: 2 professional references required
Additional Notes
- No license is required for this position.
- All time off must be approved by the manager.
- Badge photo required within one week of signing contract.
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific code of conduct and other required documents within 7 days of contract signing.
