Travel RN Medical/Surgical Job - Tulsa, Oklahoma

Job Summary

• Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Coordinate care across all disciplines.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.

Required Qualifications

• License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for Oklahoma, with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified.
• Exams/Testing:

  • Pharmacology 1 or 2 exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years).
  • Medical Surgical exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years).
  • Core Competencies exam covering HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years).
  • Cerner Test-Out.
  • Skills Checklist (clinical specialty, updated annually).
• Health Requirements:

  • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted).
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
  • TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire.
  • Fit Test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite).
  • 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
  • Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• Background Checks and Verifications:

  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days prior to first assignment.
  • EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days prior to start.
  • Education verification within 90 days prior to start.
  • Employment verification for the past seven years.
• Other Requirements:

  • Driver’s License or State ID (must be current and valid).
  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation.
  • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding.
  • Ascension Nova StatStrip training.
  • Ascension Confirmation of Assignment documentation.
  • Ascension Badge Photo (headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).
