Job Opportunity: RRT-NICU (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)

Location: Manchester, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 3x12 (6:15 AM - 6:45 PM)
  • Call Requirement: None
  • Float Requirement: None
  • Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW) required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Pediatric Respiratory Therapist license in New Hampshire
  • Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
  • At least one completed travel assignment
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Comprehensive background check within 30 days of start, including:
    • Social Security Verification
    • National Sex Offender Registry Search
    • National Criminal Search
    • Education Verification
    • State and county criminal searches (excluding NH counties; NH State Police Search required instead)
    • BEAS (Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services) Background Report for NH placements
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 14 days prior to start
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Two professional references within the last 3 years, including one from a supervisor or charge RN
  • SSA release and state-specific releases (NH Statewide Release required)
  • Pass/fail testing for EKG/Dysrhythmia may be required depending on unit assignment
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance questionnaire required prior to start

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
  • Annual fit mask test (N95 or equivalent)
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD or equivalent)
    • TB Questionnaire per CDC guidelines
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Immune titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart
    • Hepatitis B: Immune titer or 3 vaccines at least 28 days apart (declinations accepted with waiver)
    • Varicella: Immune titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart (history of disease not accepted)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during October 31 - April 1 period, with medical or religious exemptions allowed via facility-specific waiver forms
  • Hepatitis B waiver required if declining vaccine
  • Medical and religious exemption forms required for flu and Tdap vaccines if applicable

Additional Notes

  • Travelers who have previously been employed by the associated health system are not eligible regardless of separation time
  • Passport-style photo required for badge
  • Proof of auto insurance required if providing home health or hospice care
  • Facility requires documentation of OSHA education (Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification preferred/required depending on unit
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification preferred/required depending on unit
  • Competency exams (medication, pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG) may be required for internal purposes and/or facility compliance

This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists with NICU specialty who meet the licensing and certification requirements and have prior travel contract experience.
