Job Opportunity: Cardiac Tele Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract
Location: Bel Air, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30), every other week (EOW)

Job Description
- Work in a combined Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele) unit (3E CPU) with a focus on higher acuity and progressive care unit (PCU) experience.
- Average daily census: 30 patients
- Unit beds: 22 rooms / 30 beds
- Patient population: Adult and Geriatrics
- Patient diagnoses include a variety of complex conditions such as CHF, ECOPD, NSTEMI, new onset AFib, arrhythmias, sepsis, renal failure/AKI, and others.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maryland
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
- Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations
Required Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
- Competency Exam specific to MS/Tele unit
- Age Specific Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher)
Health and Background Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30-45 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Fit test for masks within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (based on unit requirements)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray with annual updates
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (proof of immunity or vaccination)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted)
- Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct-Mar)
- COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation may be collected for tracking
Documentation and Compliance
- I9 or attestation required
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Background checks including 7-year criminal search, education verification, and state-specific exclusions list
- Two professional references required, including at least one supervisor or charge nurse
- Employment history verification for the past 5 years
- Facility-specific documents such as confidentiality agreements, dress code review, and unit-specific job description must be signed prior to start
- OSHA questionnaire and other facility-specific compliance documents required
Additional Information
- Candidates will complete CPI training during orientation if not already certified.
- Candidates must complete Epic Portfolio Training Test Out Form if eligible to test out of Epic training.
- Facility requires adherence to appearance standards, fingernail hygiene policy, and parking/vehicle registration policies.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity telemetry unit with a diverse patient population, ideal for RNs with solid progressive care experience seeking a travel contract in Maryland.
