Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (IR Tech)
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology)
- Shift: 8:00 AM or 8:30 AM, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
- Daily Caseload: Approximately 9 cases per tech
- On-Call: Yes, 0-4 assignments per month (more is elective)
- Weekend Requirement: On call as needed
- Floating: No floating within or to sister facilities
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
- Pending State License Accepted: Yes
- Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 5 days
- Work Setting Experience Required: Inpatient, Operating Room, Emergency Room, Interventional Radiology
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Minnesota
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- Experience as a Special Procedures Technologist
- BLS certification
- ARRT certification
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Experience with X-ray procedures including extremities, abdomen/GI, spine/pelvis, head, chest/thorax, lower extremities, and upper extremities
- Experience with interventional radiology procedures including stents and angioplasty
Required Certifications & Licenses
- License: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) license required for Radiology Techs
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted, RQI acceptable, certificate of completion not accepted
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM as applicable (review unit/job description for applicability)
- National Tech Certification verification (ARRT required for CT Techs)
- State License: Minnesota state license required or pending accepted
- Other: Physical exam within 12 months prior to start required
Required Clinical Experience
- X-ray Procedures: Experience with extremities, abdomen/GI, spine/pelvis, head, chest/thorax, lower and upper extremities
- IR/Angio/Special Procedures: Experience with stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrogram, peripherals, drainages (upper and lower extremity), abdomen and pelvic, genitourinary studies, vascular studies, venous access, neurological studies
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 1 year of start date (including MN statewide search and other standard checks)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 1 year of start
- Fingerprinting via Minnesota DHS Net Study required before start (no starts with fingerprints pending unless approved "more time needed" letter)
- Completion of MN DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after signing contract
- Physical exam and immunizations (Tdap, TB test, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccination for 2025-26 season) required
- OSHA Respiratory Safety clearance required prior to start for fit testing
- Completion of facility-specific preorientation modules within 72 hours of receiving login (3-9 hours depending on specialty)
- Passport-style photo for badge required within 48 hours of signing contract

Summary
This is a travel contract opportunity for an Interventional Radiology Tech with at least 1 year of specialty experience. The position requires ARRT licensure, BLS certification, and experience with a broad range of X-ray and interventional radiology procedures. Candidates must comply with Minnesota state licensing and background check requirements, complete required health screenings and facility onboarding modules, and be available for weekday shifts with on-call responsibilities. First-time travelers are accepted.
