Description
Job Opportunity: RN - Long Term Care (LTC)
Location: Mt. Pleasant, Iowa
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Provide routine daily nursing care and other services based on resident assessments and care plans.
- Assigned to a primary household of approximately 16 residents.
- Collaborate closely with RN Manager to manage daily functions and provide skilled nursing for residents with complex needs.
- Work schedule: 8-hour shifts, alternating between 40 hours one week and 32 hours the next (total 72 hours over 2 weeks).
- Every other weekend required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of 2 years of Long Term Care experience.
- Long Term Care experience within the last year.
Required Credentials and Compliance
- Professional license verification (RN license via BON & NURSYS within 30 days of start).
- Education verification (highest level completed).
- Drug screen (9-panel, within 30 days of start).
- Skills checklist (completed within 12 months).
- Pre-orientation acknowledgment form.
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination accepted.
- MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap vaccinations or positive titers (with booster or declination accepted).
- Fit test for approved respirators (completed prior to start).
- TB test (negative test within past year or documentation if history of positive).
- Health statement (physician statement within last 12 months).
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
- Background check including social security trace and county search for last 7 years (within 30 days of start).
- Iowa Adult and Child Abuse clearance.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG screening (within 30 days of start).
- Professional references (2 required, 1 must be from supervisor).
- SING, NSO, OFAC screenings (within 30 days of start).
- OSHA questionnaire.
- Influenza vaccine or facility declination (due annually by December 1).
Additional Information
- This position is for clinical nursing in a long-term care setting.
- The role requires flexibility with alternating weekly hours and weekend coverage.
- Emphasis on providing skilled nursing care to residents with complex needs.
