Description
Job Opportunity: Hospice RN
Location: Grand Island, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide hospice nursing care to assigned clients in a safe, efficient, and compassionate manner. Responsibilities include performing initial and ongoing client assessments, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, implementing and evaluating individualized plans of care, and supporting clients and families through the grieving process.
Work Schedule
- 36 hours per week for twelve-hour shifts, or
- 40 hours per week for eight to ten hour shifts
- Work week: Sunday through Saturday
- Day-time, flexible hours based on patient visit times
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver hospice palliative care according to hospice philosophy and scope of services
- Recognize cultural attitudes and values toward death and dying
- Identify stages of grief and differentiate normal vs. abnormal grief
- Involve client and family in care planning
- Complete required documentation timely
- Explain advance directives and available interdisciplinary services
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Participate in quality assurance audits, in-services, educational opportunities, team meetings, and committees
- Assist with community outreach and marketing activities
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Nebraska
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 2 years hospice nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

- No on-call or call-back required
- Local placements within an 80-mile radius
- Compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies is mandatory
- Position may require flexibility in duties and responsibilities as needed
