Job Opportunity: RN - CVICU (Travel)
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Days (7 AM - 7 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a competent Registered Nurse with pediatric cardiac experience, including care involving chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions. The nurse practices independently in a critical care setting, providing both routine and complex care while managing clinical contingencies and delegating tasks appropriately.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Meet organizational competencies related to leadership and clinical practice.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- CVICU experience within the last year; 0 years of CVICU experience acceptable.
- Experience working with pediatric patients required.
Certifications & Licenses
- Valid RN license in Texas.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
