Job Opportunity: Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry

Location: Sioux City, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide professional and clinical nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Work primarily on a general medical/surgical floor caring for post-op patients requiring overnight stays.
Floating within the same discipline across local campuses may be required.
Use of EPIC electronic medical records system preferred.

Schedule & Hours

36-40 hours per week, with overtime billable after 40 hours.
Orientation schedule provided.

Required Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Iowa.
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required.
At least 1 prior travel contract completed (prior travel experience required).
BLS certification required.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required.
Must not have been employed by the facility’s health system in the last 12 months.
Valid Driver’s License.
Work history/resume, skills checklist (completed within 1 year), license verification, required certifications, and one supervisory reference required at time of submission.
Must have a taxable address outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
First-time travelers are acceptable.

Additional Information

Floating within the same discipline across local campuses is expected.
Position involves care on a general medical/surgical floor with post-op patients.

Cons

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
