Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg (Nights)

Location: Lawton, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications
  • Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
  • Adjust specialized medical equipment as needed
  • Interpret and record measurements
  • Monitor patients' vitals and report adverse reactions to medications promptly

Required Qualifications

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg)
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience required
  • Valid RN license for Oklahoma

Additional Information

  • Orientation for nursing travelers starts on Thursdays
  • Local candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a reduced rate
  • No increased pay for overtime, holiday, or call-back hours
  • On-call pay provided at a set hourly rate with a minimum hour requirement
  • Non-compete policy: Former direct employees are not eligible to return through an agency until 6 months after direct employment ends

Cons

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
