Job Opportunity: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Must have 3 years of experience in Behavioral Health / Psychiatry (highest required years of experience).
• Position involves working primarily in a psychiatric facility with 337 staffed beds.
• Nurses may be floated to inpatient units depending on patient census; bring or keep navy scrubs available.
• Business casual attire is standard for nursing staff at this facility.
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
• No on-call requirement.
• Nurses may be required to serve as charge RN during shifts (no additional pay for charge role).
• Floating within scope of practice to meet facility needs is expected.
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
• Local candidates are accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland.
• Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health experience, including experience within the last year.
• Psychiatric nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Additional Requirements

• Candidates must complete various facility-specific documents and acknowledgements prior to start, including orientation manuals, confidentiality agreements, and policy acknowledgements.
• Two professional references required within 2 years of start date.
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.
• Candidates must comply with the facility’s time and attendance policies, including shift swaps for time-off requests.
• Expectation to support essential worker duties during inclement weather events.

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travel nurses are accepted.
• Fingerprinting must be done in Maryland; out-of-state mail-in fingerprinting is not accepted.
• Candidates should schedule fingerprint appointments at least 10 days prior to start.
• The facility provides free employee parking.
• Charting system used: Sunrise.
• Scrub color for inpatient float: Navy Blue.
