Job Opportunity: MS/ TELE RN (Travel)

Location: Hazard, Kentucky
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Description

  • Work on Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Unit with short stay patients.
  • Responsible for all MS/Telemetry and observation patients.
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:6 or 1:7.
  • Floating to other units required during low census.
  • Schedule follows a 36/48 hour rotation over two weeks.
  • Orientation provided bi-weekly.
  • Must reside within 100 miles of the facility.

Required Qualifications

  • License: Valid RN license for Kentucky or compact license valid in Kentucky.
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of nursing experience in specialty (MS/Telemetry).
  • Health Requirements:
    • Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer (or started series with follow-up dose).
    • Proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination.
    • Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer (or started series with follow-up dose).
    • Influenza vaccine (seasonal, October-March) or approved medical/religious exemption.
    • Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (declinations accepted).
    • Annual physical or health statement signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP stating clear to work without restrictions.
    • TB Quantiferon blood test within one year prior to start. If positive, chest X-ray within last 5 years plus TB questionnaire.
  • Background and Compliance:
    • 7-year background check including criminal, sex offender, and employment/education verifications.
    • Drug screen within 30 days of start (excluding marijuana/THC).
    • Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification (Kentucky).
  • Competency and Skills:
    • Unit-specific skills checklist and competency exams (including EKG/Telemetry exam) within one year prior to start.
    • Core competencies including HIPAA, patient rights, safety, infection control, elder abuse, cultural diversity, advance directives.
  • References: Two professional references required, including one charge nurse or higher and one supervisor reference within the last year.
  • Other:
    • Must complete ARH Assignment Confirmation within 24 hours of offer acceptance.
    • Must complete ARH Employee Health Attestation Form prior to start.

Additional Notes

  • Holiday policy applies for all requested time off.
  • Assignment start date is the date needed to begin work.
  • Candidates should not be submitted to more than one job at a time.
