Job Description

• Work on a busy Med Surg/Telemetry floor
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1845-0715)
• No on-call duties
• May be required to float to other Med Surg/Tele units or low acuity ICU

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start, including all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
• N95 Fit Mask test within 1 year (no PAPR allowed)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or chest X-ray within 5 years if prior positive)
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations:

  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers (measles, mumps, rubella)
  • Hepatitis B titer or series
  • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31), no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Complete employment application/resume
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty

Summary

This is a travel contract RN position on a Med Surg/Telemetry floor with a 13-week assignment. The role requires at least 1 year of nursing experience, current TN or compact RN license, and specific certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. Epic experience within the last year is mandatory. Prior travel experience is preferred but not required. The position involves a 3x12 hour night shift schedule with possible floating to other units. Comprehensive background checks, immunizations, and health screenings are required.
