Description
Job Opportunity: Surgical Tech
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Job Summary
The Surgical Technician assists the healthcare team during the intra-operative period, focusing on preparation and handling of surgical instruments and equipment, and assisting the surgeon during procedures. The role requires knowledge of specific surgical procedures, prioritization, planning, and problem-solving in a dynamic environment. The Surgical Tech must respond immediately in urgent or emergency situations and apply aseptic technique and medical terminology knowledge in patient care.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Experience as a Surgical Technician
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain aseptic technique during surgical duties to ensure positive patient outcomes
- Care for, prepare, handle, and maintain surgical instrumentation
- Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts consistently according to policy
- Adhere to professional standards of practice
