Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Days (times may change based on permanent staff scheduling)
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years recent ER experience (strict requirement)
- Minimum 2 years prior travel experience required (strict)
- First-time travelers accepted only if they have over 3 years recent ER experience
- Schedule Requirements:
- On-call as needed
- Weekend shifts as needed (no weekend block scheduling, but weekend block may be considered)
- Must be willing to work 48-hour shifts
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (100-mile radius rule)
- Pending License: Not accepted; must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
- Minimum 2 years of total travel nursing experience
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by AHA or ARC
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by AHA or ARC
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending compliance allowed)
- Fit test for 3M N-95 mask within 1 year of start (must pass without limitations)
- Immunizations:
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or positive titer or signed declination
- TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year, updated annually
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (declinations not accepted)
- Background checks including statewide, county, federal, education verification, sex offender search, and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (for TN facilities)
- Two recent professional references required
Additional Notes
- Candidates must comply with all documentation requirements including I-9, Social Security card, and government-issued IDs
- Photo badge with strict guidelines required prior to start
- Must sign confidentiality acknowledgment prior to start
- Skills checklist and internal evaluations required for candidates employed with agency for one year or more
This position is ideal for experienced ER RNs with prior travel experience who are ready to work in a high-acuity Level I Trauma Center environment on a 13-week travel contract.
