Travel RN CVICU Job in Nashville, Tennessee
Job Description
Seeking highly motivated critical care Registered Nurses who thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity critical care environment. The unit cares for some of the most critically ill patients, primarily focusing on cardiothoracic surgery (open heart recovery) and neuro/neurosurgery. The team also provides ICU-level care for COVID-19 patients, including those requiring ECMO.
Unit Details
- Unit Capacity: 15 beds
- Patient Population: Cardiac Surgery, Cardiac Transplant, Myocardial Infarction, Congestive Heart Failure, Cardiogenic Shock, Cardiomyopathy, Arrhythmias, Post Cardiopulmonary Arrest, Post Ventricular Assist Device Placement
- Patient Age Range: Adolescents through late adults (14 - 60+)
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: Typically 1:2
Contract Length
- 12 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (AHA required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (AHA required)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- Successful completion of a proctored cardiac rhythm test
- Nursys license verification within 30 days prior to start
- Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Completion of required onboarding and competency assessments, including but not limited to:
- Color Vision Test
- Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.)
- EKG Exam
- Cerner Test-Out
- Skills Checklist (clinical specialty)
- Required immunizations and health screenings:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine (seasonal, exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations)
- Tdap (valid within 10 years)
- Tuberculosis screening (PPD or IGRA with chest X-ray if positive)
- Fit Test for respiratory protection (annual)
- Drug screening: 12-panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start
- Background checks and verifications:
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry
- Employment verifications (past 7 years)
- Education verification
- Valid driver's license or state ID (must meet address requirements)
- Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually
