Job Summary
As a PET/CT Technologist, you will use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain procedures, and ensure their comfort and safety. You will produce high-quality PET/CT images by interpreting physician orders and selecting appropriate imaging parameters. The role requires flexibility to work in various environments such as outpatient centers, mobile units, or inpatient facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic injection technique.
- Adhere to radiation safety regulations and proper documentation when working with radioactive materials.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic PET/CT images.
- Communicate effectively with patients and radiologists.
- Train new technologists and/or personnel.
- Troubleshoot scanners, mobile units, and peripheral equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California.
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 1 year of experience within the last year.
- High school diploma or GED.
- NMTCB or ARRT certification.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Nuclear Medicine experience.
Notes
- A CT license is not required as the CT performed is for attenuation correction only.
- Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
