IR Technologist (Interventional Radiology)

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to cover both vascular and neuro IR procedures. The position requires working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with call responsibilities including 1-2 shifts per week plus every 3rd or 4th weekend and possible holiday call. Call back time is 30 minutes.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic monitoring.
• Maintain sterile technique during procedure setup and patient preparation.
• Continuously monitor patient ECG and blood pressure, documenting and advising physicians promptly.
• Participate in on-call rotation and be available for emergent procedures 24/7.
• Act as code team member, initiating resuscitative measures under physician supervision.
• Document all procedures accurately and manage inventory control.
• Participate in educational and in-service training opportunities.
• Instruct radiography students in clinical settings regarding patient positioning, equipment use, and technique.
• Maintain specialization in Neuroradiology and Vascular IR procedures.
• Participate in performance improvement and inventory management activities.

Equipment Used

• Canon equipment in Body/Vascular IR rooms
• Siemens Artis Q and Siemens Iconos in Neuro rooms
• GE ultrasound equipment in all rooms

Required Certifications & Licenses

• ARRT (R) certification
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Radiation badge must be provided by the agency (not provided by the facility)

Schedule & Call Details

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Call: 1-2 shifts per week plus every 3rd or 4th weekend, possible holiday call
• 30-minute call back time

Additional Information

• Scrubs are provided
• Approximately 20-30 cases performed daily, depending on provider coverage
• Must meet facility submission requirements including geographic restrictions and prior candidate status
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Required Experience

• Experience in Interventional Radiology with emphasis on neuro and vascular procedures
• Above average skills in cerebral procedures, coilings, kyphoplasty, spine work, stroke therapy, and carotid stenting

Work Hours

• 40 hours per week
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 4-10 hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) with call requirements as noted above
